Social Nonsense Keynote / Social Nonsense Workshop

I do a wonderful keynote or workshop based on the Social Nonsense book. As a keynote, it’s a great alternative to a traditional talk-plus-powerpoint keynote; it will get your participants laughing, energized, and interacting with each other. As a workshop, your participants will have a fun experience that will change the way they think about collaboration and creativity. Whether you want a workshop or keynote, I will customize it to the size of your audience and the length of time that meets your needs.

I will take your participants through a series of writing, drawing, and storytelling games with rules simple enough that they will be able to share them for the rest of their lives. The activities they learn will need no preparation or planning – perfect for putting a creative space into those “dead times” when they and their friends would normally take the phones out. Imagine starting your conference off with your participants exploring their inner creativity and getting to know each other while having legit fun.

I hadn’t ever laughed so hard with strangers! The best feeling afterwards was not only knowing new people but feeling satisfied that I had contributed to the wonderfully improbable and artistic energy created that day.

I am excellent at reading a crowd. As we go, I will tailor the activities and pacing to their mood and comfort, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone in the room.

The workshop gave us a low stakes entry to get to know each other. I can also use some of these activities in alternate settings when trying to break the ice in a fun way.

This workshop will be fun even for people who never thought of themselves as “creative,” and also a joy for those who already love to create and want to tap into new unexpected reserves of imagination. We will also laugh, feel satisfaction out of proportion to what we actually did, stumble on truths, and maybe wind up doing this again at dinner!
